Petros Panayi was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He received an HND degree from the Higher Technical Institute of Cyprus (HTI 1995). He then received a scholar ship from Cyprus Scholarship Foundation to study at the University of South Wales (USW) where he received a B.Eng. degree with first class honors in Electronics and Communication Engineering (1997). USW offered him a scholarship to study for a Ph.D. on the field of radiowave propagation and antennas. The title of his research is “Design and comparative performance evaluation of novel mobile phone antennas and their radiative effects on users." (June 2000). After Finishing his studies, Petros has worked in several software development positions in Cyprus until Sep. 2004 and then switch to academic carrier where for two years he was a full-time faculty at Intercollage Cyprus. During this time, he has received a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus. Today, Petros is working as a Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Computer Science ot the University of Cyprus.
His research interests include, Computer Architecture, Compilers and Parallel Processing using GPUs.
